Coarse Silver Sand

Coarse Silver sand, sourced from local quarries in Cornwall.

Our coarse Silver sand is a product that is used reguarly within Cornwall & the westcountry. It is suitable for a variety of general construction uses including:

  • Mixing into a mortar for laying paving slabs or screeding floors
  • Under block paving/artificial grass
  • General purpose concrete mixes
  • Mixing with soil to break down heavy clay based soils.
  • Other mortar mixes where a silver or grey colour is required

This sand is derived from granite & is graded from 0-4mm.

Approximate coverage once compacted or used in a screed:

Dumpy Bags: 13m2 @ 50mm depth

Per Loose Ton: 14m2 @ 50mm depth

25kg Polybags: 0.38m2 @ 50mm depth

Description

A 0-4mm screened silver coarse sand, known locally as sharp sand, rough sand or concreting sand.

Our Coarse sand is screened with particles no bigger than 4mm for use in the construction industry.

This product is silver in colour & when used with general purpose Portland cement, dries to a light grey colour.

  • Bulk/Jumbo bags are filled to an approximate weight of 860kg.
  • Small polybags are filled to an approximate weight of 25kg.
  • Loose material is supplied on a per ton basis. This is available locally & nationally by request.
