Our Plum Slate Chippings falls under the category of metamorphic rocks, formed when shales and clays are put under tremendous pressure and heated inside the earth for millions of years.
Sourced from quarries in the beautiful region of North Wales, in the United kingdom, this 40mm Plum Slate is graded with the biggest stone no larger than 40mm. This means that smaller sizes of 20mm can be found.
Colours may vary between batches due to the nature of this natural stone. When bagged, the stone usually has a covering of dust which can make the stone appear a different colour. Once the dust has washed away, the true colour of the stone will emerge.
